Malinta
Industry
in the Malinta area has powered the population
into the 2000’s.
The forward movement into a new century
stands in solid contrast to the humble
beginnings of the village.
Malinta was the middle name of the
daughter of the founder of the village, John
Bensing. The
saw mills, saloons and tile factories of that
time have ascended to industries like; W.R.
Pringle Co., JAD Machine and Gilson Screen.
The
hard work that cleared the land and re-routed
Turkeyfoot Creek is alive and well today in
Malinta. The
communitie's children are a part of the Patrick
Henry School District.
The Malinta Elementary teaches the
students of the village until middle school.
The students receive a great education
right in their home community.
Tri-County
Rural Cooperative played a key role in the
electrification of Henry County, which led to
industrial and business success.
Tri-County’s offices reside in Malinta
and the efforts of this cooperative, and others
like it, ensured structured growth for Henry
County’s rural residents and communities.
